Board of Directors

Ian Blakely, Director
As a director in Good Energies’ New York office, Ian Blakely has made investments in solar, wind, smart grid and load management companies. Prior to joining Good Energies, he was the co-founder and CFO of BrightPath, a start-up focused on serving the needs of parents of children with learning disabilities. He helped lead fundraising efforts, development of a strategy and the business model and managed a team of experts providing advice to parents. Previously, Ian was an associate at JPMorgan Partners, a leading global private equity and venture capital fund. While at JPMorgan Partners, he helped build and invested in successful companies in the energy, financial services, and transportation industries. As a former analyst at Morgan Stanley, he also helped advise consumer products companies on mergers, acquisitions and fundraising activities. During his time there, he worked on transactions such as the US$18.9 billion sale of Nabisco to Philip Morris and the IPO of Bunge.

Stephan Dolezalek, Director
Stephan has spent 23 years in Silicon Valley working exclusively with technology driven companies. He joined VantagePoint in 1999. He served as head or co-head of the Firm’s Software and Life Sciences Groups prior to crafting the Firm’s CleanTech platform in 2002, actively heading the CleanTech Group since its inception. Prior to joining VantagePoint, Stephan was a senior partner with Brobeck, Phleger & Harrison acting as Managing Partner of that Firm’s Palo Alto Office, Head of the Business and Technology Group and Chairman of the Life Sciences Group. He is a graduate of the School of Architecture at the University of Virginia (BCP) and the University of Virginia School of Law (JD).

Harsh Patel, Director
Mr. Patel is a General Partner with RRE Ventures, anchoring the firm’s Silicon Valley presence. He was previously a Principal at In-Q-Tel, the venture capital arm of the U.S. Intelligence Community, where he led a number of investments including Palantir Technologies, CallMiner and Tendril Networks. Prior to becoming a venture capitalist, Mr. Patel was on the other side of the table as Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Orbit Commerce, an early pioneer in web services (acquired by Digital River,NASD:DRIV). Mr. Patel led the development of an integrated suite of 24×7 managed services for the small-and-medium business market, sold via trusted brand partners such as FedEx, Gateway Computer, Network Solutions and Cincinnati Bell. Mr. Patel began his career with the advanced technology research organization of Accenture, where he was a recognized expert in E-Commerce technologies and co-author of the firm’s first E-Commerce Application Framework. He has recently led investments in Flipswap and Tendril, and manages investments in Vocera and Montavista. Mr. Patel holds an MBA from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business and a B.S. in Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Adrian Tuck, CEO
Adrian has more than 20 years of executive management and leadership experience. As CEO, he focuses on expanding Tendril’s customer base through multiple sales and marketing channels, including alliances with leading companies. Adrian is also the vice-chair of the ZigBee Alliance, an association of companies working together to enable reliable, cost-effective, low-power, wirelessly networked, monitoring and control products based on an open global standard. Prior to Tendril, Adrian served as both interim CEO and executive vice president of Ember Corporation, a leading semiconductor provider to the Smart Grid, where he guided the company’s market strategy through its critical early-growth stage. He received his education at the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the British Army’s prestigious officer training academy.

Tim Enwall, COO
Tim has 18 years of high-tech business management experience. Most recently, he was Vice President and Research Area Director at Gartner, Inc. Prior to Gartner, Tim launched a successful entrepreneurial career founding and serving as Chairman of emerging technology advisory firm Solista, which was acquired by Gartner. He was also the Founder and a Board Member of Intellocity, an interactive television system software development firm which is now part of OpenTV, the world’s leading interactive TV system software supplier. Tim has held numerous emerging technology management roles at larger companies Apple Computer and Lockheed Martin and smaller entities including InfoNow and Requisite Technology, where he was involved in product development, customer support, business development, marketing and general management. Tim currently sits on the Board of Directors of SkyeTek, an RFID as a feature company. He holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from the University of California at Berkeley.


Technology Advisory Board

Ramesh Govindan, University of Southern California
Ramesh received his B. Tech. degree from the Indian Institute of Technology at Madras, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of California at Berkeley. He is an Associate Professor in the Computer Science Department at the University of Southern California. His research interests include scalable routing in internetworks, and wireless sensor networks.

Professor Richard Han, University of Colorado
Richard joined the Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado at Boulder in August 2001 as an Assistant Professor. He leads the MANTIS wireless sensor networking project at CU-Boulder, mantis.cs.colorado.edu. He received a National Science Foundation CAREER Award in 2002 and IBM Faculty Awards in 2002 and 2003. Prior to joining CU-Boulder, Richard was a Research Staff Member for four years at IBM’s Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Hawthorne, New York. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and his B.S. in Electrical Engineering, with distinction, from Stanford University.
