Take Part in Earth Hour 2011 by Going Dark

March 25, 2011

At 8:30 pm (local time) on Saturday, March 26 millions of people in more than 128 countries around the globe will take part in Earth Hour by simply switching off their lights. Organized by the World Wildlife Foundation (WWF), Earth Hour is designed to join people together for a common cause—the planet.

Earth Hour 2011 asks people and organizations to use the hour as a time to make a renewed commitment to take action for the planet beyond the hour. An online platform, Beyond the Hour, aims to inspire and showcase positive actions the global community can take for the planet beyond Earth Hour, has launched this year. The platform, translated into 11 languages, allows individuals, businesses and governments all over the world to commit to an ongoing environmental action and share it with the globe to motivate others to do the same.

Want to get involved? It’s easy. Check out the Earth Hour website or download the “Lights Off” Earth Hour Twitter application and join us for Earth Hour 2011.
