Tendril Rocks DistribuTECH
February 2, 2011
We had a fantastic first day at DistribuTECH capped-off with an amazing Tendril Back Stage party last night at the Hard Rock Hotel. Kenny Aronoff, Spin Magazine’s #1 drummer for the past five years, and his friends took the stage and blew the roof off. It was so good to see so many people there having a blast.
Day #2 brings with it more great things.
We announced this morning that we’re partnering with Utility Integration Solutions, Inc. (UISOL), the leading provider of Demand Response management and automation systems, on a Price Response Demand demonstration project for PJM Interconnection, operator of the largest power grid in North America. The project shows how Locational Marginal Price paired with distributed intelligence can drive automated residential Demand Response in the home. It’s a real-world demonstration of the feasibility and ease with which residential customers can reduce their energy consumption in response to wholesale price signals that reflect grid conditions. It will also enable utilities to aggregate demand response in consumers’ homes for better load control, increased efficiency and additional savings.
In addition, we’re collaborating with ThinkEco to deliver a Demand Response system that serves utilities and their customers by integrating one version of ThinkEco’s patent-pending modlet plug-load management technology with Tendril’s extensible technology platform, Tendril Connect™. ThinkEco will develop a version of the modlet that is fully compatible with the Tendril Connect, so that utilities using Tendril’s platform will be able to easily incorporate the user-friendly modlet as part of their customer offering to eliminate plug-load costs. It gives our energy provider customers and their consumers more choice.
If you haven’t had a chance stop by our booth (#1329), we hope to see you today. We’ll be hosting ‘It’s 5 O’Clock Somewhere’ happy hour from from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. So if you’re at DistribuTECH, come by our booth and have a drink with us. I’d love to hear how the show has been going for you.
