Tendril Engages Consumers (and Attendees) with Energize Launch

The highly-anticipated Tendril Energize application suite was launched on February 1st at DistribuTECH. A select few were invited to a ‘sneak peek’ of Energize hosted by CEO Adrian Tuck. The standing room only event was a brief demonstration of the consumer-facing Energize application, the industry’s first ever application suite based on proven behavioral science techniques that provides energy service providers with simple, easy-to-use tools that deliver increased, persistent consumer engagement in Home Energy Management programs such as Energy Efficiency, Demand Response and Load Control as well as Electric Vehicle and appliance management.

Tendril Connect Welcomes Everyone

The Platform of the Energy Internet, Tendril Connect™ enables thousands of energy service providers, millions of consumers, and thousands of ecosystem partners to connect and communicate across the grid. The open standards-based technology of Tendril Connect was demonstrated in several Tendril and third-party applications built on Connect including appliance Demand Response, Load Control, Electric Vehicle charging, and the application suite Energize.

Whirlpool Partnership Spun into Action

Just days before DistribuTECH, Tendril unveiled that it is teaming up with Whirlpool, the world’s leading appliance maker. Tendril will provide the back-end technology infrastructure to support the commercial deployment of smart appliances including a range of connectivity enabled services and applications. Whirlpool and Tendril showed these capabilities at DTECH with multiple demonstrations including a smart refrigerator cycling at non-peak periods without impacting the performance of the appliance.

Chevrolet Volt Plugs into Tendril

With a dedicated corner of the Tendril booth, executives from GM’s OnStar Division demonstrated how the charging of the Chevrolet Volt can be managed in the home and across the grid with the Tendril Electric Vehicle application. But that was only part of the story. Beyond charge management, Tendril demonstrated how the Volt’s OnStar system can communicate with the home to control the HAN, such as using the vehicle’s proximity to turn on lights and heating prior to arrival.

Backstage with Tendril Takes Center Stage at DistribuTECH

What turned out to be the ‘talk of DistribuTECH,’ occurred just outside the San Diego Convention Center walls at 207 within the Hard Rock Hotel. The Backstage with Tendril event was the place to be where attendees connected over drinks and gourmet fare. Midway through the evening, the networking ceased and the partying began when legendary drummer Kenny Aronoff took the stage with a few friends. The band jammed classics from Aerosmith, Led Zepplin, and The Rolling Stones. The crowd was dancing, jumping and even joined the band onstage at one point. We can hardly wait until next year.
