Tendril Adds Consumer Channel Marketing Expert to Executive Team

BOULDER, COLO – July 27, 2010 – Tendril, a leading energy management technology provider that brings unprecedented insight and control to the Smart Grid, today announced that wireless industry veteran Craig Cavey joined the company’s executive team as senior vice president of consumer markets.
Cavey will lead Tendril’s efforts to bring energy awareness, savings, and control products to consumers by expanding the company’s channel marketing program. He will demonstrate how consumer brands and manufacturers of consumer goods can participate in Tendril’s eco-system of energy management technology and utility partners. He will also focus on aligning Tendril products and utility customers with strategic distribution partners, including retail.
Tendril CEO Adrian Tuck says Cavey’s role is an important one as home energy management quickly moves beyond smart meters and into people’s homes.
“Our open and scalable platform allows for a wide range of applications for electric vehicles, white goods (such as refrigerators and washer/dryers) and home electronics to name a few. Additionally, our utility partners are asking us for help in finding strategic distribution partners that can deploy smart energy technology to their customers and engage them in product selections,” Tuck said.
“Craig’s expertise in channel and consumer marketing will help us align utilities, product manufacturers, retailers and consumers in a way that allows full integration of energy management into our daily lives.”
Cavey has 20 years of leadership experience in the wireless industry. Before joining Tendril, he founded Suntails Group Consulting and served as president for a telecommunications client for three years. Prior to forming his consulting firm, Cavey served as vice president of retail sales and operations for T-Mobile USA where he led a team of more than 8,000 sales, service and operations employees in 1,200 locations throughout the United States.
Cavey is a graduate of Montana State University where he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
