Tendril Selected as 2011 Technology Pioneer by World Economic Forum

September 1, 2010

Boulder, CO – September 1, 2010 – The World Economic Forum has recognized Tendril as one of the most innovative technology start-ups in the world. Earlier today, the Forum announced the new class of Technology Pioneers, a select group of companies from 13 countries and five continents which represent the cutting edge of innovation and are poised to have a critical impact on the future of business, industry and society.

The Technology Pioneers Community is composed of companies from around the world that develop and apply the most transformational technologies. Tendril was selected for the development of its energy management platform that helps utilities and consumers manage their energy usage, save money, and help reduce the negative environmental impacts of energy production and use.

“It doesn’t matter what side of the political spectrum you sit. Becoming more energy efficient as a society is an important driver for positive change. It drives jobs, it drives better environmental policy, and it drives energy independence – and those things together create meaning for a better society,” said Tendril CEO Adrian Tuck.

This year, the Forum identified the increasing importance of finding clean and green solutions to meet the world’s energy and consumer needs. This was reflected both in the number of candidacies received in the clean tech sector and in the final number selected in that category – a record 13 of the total 31 companies selected as Technology Pioneers this year.

“The World Economic Forum is proud to recognize an outstanding group of innovative companies as Technology Pioneers for 2011,” said André Schneider, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer of the World Economic Forum. “Their technologies and business models will have a durable and valuable effect in several industries and society as a whole. We look forward to their unique contributions to the mission of the Forum: improving the state of the world.”
