Tendril and design consultancy IDEO invested eight months integrating the advanced data management functions of a high-end device with the familiar elements of a digital clock found in every home.

The result is a new smart energy device that combines the functionality of an advanced energy management display in a sleek, unobtrusive and intuitive design.

The Tendril Vision lets consumers manage their energy consumption in a familiar, easy to use design that keeps them engaged and participating in energy management programs. The Vision can also provide real time pricing information which motivates customers to reduce consumption even more.

Designed to be used not thought about.

Vision’s intuitive touch-screen display gently alerts customers of pending pricing changes or upcoming Demand Response events. Vision also offers functionality to help customers build their own customized energy plan to automate routine tasks like running the dishwasher and adjusting the thermostat during peak load times.

The customizable interface lets customers review current, historical and even neighborhood use to help them make better consumption decisions in real-time. Customers can define their own rules and alerts which makes it easy to opt in or out of demand response events. There’s even a one-touch “away” function that lets users conserve energy when they are away from home.

The Tendril Vision comes in a sleek 8”X6” design and weighs less than two pounds. Vision integrates seamlessly with the Tendril platform, which includes utility applications for Demand Response, Energy Awareness, Load Control, Distributed Generation and Electric Vehicles.
